At our Broomfield, CO test lab we placed light fixtures heated up to 140 degrees behind three shades. Temperature recordings on the front of each shade using an infrared camera showed the following:
Shade 1 (left), a single cell shade, recorded 108 degrees
Shade 2 (middle), an Architella shade, recorded 95.4 degrees
Shade 3 (right), a Trielle shade recorded only 84.6 degrees
That’s a 24 degree difference between a single cell shade and Trielle!
